What Does Real Success Look Like To You?

About a week ago, I finished writing my chapter contribution for the 2nd edition of Pursuit 365 : Inspiring stores in the every-day pursuit of success, happiness, and achievement, which will be launched in June 2022.
In order to edit my chapter to 365 words, the editor had changed my piece significantly. I'm okay with that, but today I'd like to share some of the original writing, in particular, the last paragraph. It goes like this:
We have been conditioned to believe all the ways we are deficient, inadequate and separate from Life and each other. We have been taught that success is something we must pursue “out there”—the dream job, the money, the perfect relationship, the house and the car, and so on. In the outward pursuit of success and happiness, inevitably we come to a place where we may attain everything we want, and still come up unfulfilled and spiritually empty. It is only when we have the courage to dig deep and care for our heart and soul that we can create success that is authentic and sustainable. True success is not so much about the destination, but who we become in the process. May we all have success that feels as good as it looks, knowing that there’s nothing else we need to strive for. May we all know that we belong, as a precious soul, in the beautiful tapestry of Life.
